Visiting 165 Embassies and High Commissions in Greater London
Embassies and High Commissions locations and visits
According to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office there are 165 Embassies and High Commissions in Greater London.
The challenge is to visit all of these on foot.
To do this involves using the closest rail/tube station to the first Embassy or High Commission followed by walking to other Embassies and High Commissions and ending at the closest rail/tube station to the last Embassy or High Commission.
I got the details of the Embassies and High Commissions from here.
I used Google Gemini to extract a list of Embassies and High Commissions from the document and to geocode them. I plotted these on a Google Map and used that to design walking routes using PlotaRoute and geoapify’s route planner API.
The walking routes that have been planned and completed can be viewed from the Embassies and High Commissions walks page.
The Google Map below shows all of the Embassies and High Commissions.
Green markers are Embassies and High Commissions already visited
Blue markers are Embassies and High Commissions still to be visited
The grey areas are zones I’ve created to group together nearby Embassies and High Commissions.
